Browne Saucery is the debut album from Voodoo Browne, the digital-delicacy available from all good download stores now.
Over the last year and after four glimpses into the thirteen–track album the long-awaited debut is here. Voodoo continues to make use of his distinct talents in representing the British scene by taking on the most current styles of UK Hip-hop, Dance and Pop into audio appetite satisfaction. Voodoo is the likeable Hip Hop MC/Rapper who is gradually carving his own place in the UK’s hip hop ‘Hall Of Fame’. Although relatively unknown, he is now ready to drop his debut album worldwide and aims to bring his own individual sound to a cafe near you soon….
British/Antiguan urban vocalist Marley Browne brings together all the elements of his diverse musical and cultural background into his alias Voodoo Browne and his quick-witted, thought provoking and occasionally deeply moving lyrical take on modern society. Accompanied by features from various artists Voodoo culminates both the live and synthesised sounds of his collaborations and experiences encountered throughout his 10 years in music.
Voodoo said “The name for Browne Saucery came to me randomly one day. I knew I always wanted to do a more experimental solo hip-hop album by showing a more live sound to give the listeners a kind of concert feel rather than the lackluster effect hip-hop recordings can have if the energy isn’t captured properly. Working with live musicians helped the process hugely and allowed me to showcase my musical tastes, which is not just hip hop/rap. Browne Saucery gave me the platform to jump off with some fresh & exciting ideas covering Jazz, Funk, Rock, Soul and Dance music.”
Have you seen the sauce?
Browne Saucery kicks off with suitably macabre introduction “The Inauguration” setting the scene with a buzzing bassline and lively tribal hip-hop beat. The first half of the album continues into the introduction of bassist/vocalist Mr Lee and vocal features from Mummy Browne all the while fronted with Voodoo’s versatile vocals through the chilling, cheeky and always catchy. The remainder of the album picks up the tempo with three UK Dance tracks produced by co-conspirator NJC and funk/rock from Mr Lee (Ex member of band ‘The Marvelous’) before bringing back to the album’s primary urban foundation and thoughtful lyricism over soulful edgy hip-hop beats.
