Innerheart is a backing band to the stars (Reggae, R&B and Hip Hop). Musicians who were backing Desmond Dekker, Prince Buster, Lee Perry, Dawn Penn, Errol Dunkley, Alton Ellis and other reggae artists formed the band many years ago to bring fresh up and coming artists to the stage. Nowadays you can catch them backing reggae stars such as Darien Prophecy, YT and Irie J as well as Hip Hop artists like Voodoo Browne and you can also be sure to see them with future artists from the Ambiel Records label.

HISTORY

Both Gordon and Aubrey Mulrain were members of Jah Warriors, one of the leading UK reggae bands from the early 80’s. They released 2 albums “Poor Man Story” in 1984 and “No Illusions” in 1985.  Jah Warriors last single was “Under The Apple Tree” released on the Ariwa label by Mad Professor.  The song was also used in the film “For Queen and Country” featuring Denzel Washington. The band toured with Yellowman, Aswad and backed Lee Perry as well as 60’s star Chris Andrews who then signed Jah Warriors to his own label (ARC). They both joined Desmond Dekker in 1993

Charles Nelson was keyboard player for lovers rock band Natural Touch who topped the reggae charts with their single “Good Loving”. After working with Desmond Dekker he worked with Gregory Isaacs, Alton Ellis, U Brown and Dave Barker. Mark Thompson and James Hurd came from the funk era. Originally from the R&B band “Network” which toured the UK during the late 70’s, they featured American R&B vocalist Debbie Sharp who had a hit with “Zapped By Love.
