Reviews:

This is the latest offering from British Pop/Hip/Hop artist Voodoo Browne aka Marley Browne. After his debut single over a year ago he has spent the last 6 months putting the finishing touches to his debut album ‘Browne Saucery’. [Watch the Video]

Whilst working on the album, Voodoo and producer Nat Clarkson discovered the demo version of LBR in one of the many folders of tracks they’d been working on, and was something they had recorded as a joke. We asked Voodoo to explain the track and who its all about……..

Voodoo explains the idea:

“Basically the idea comes from being around a close personal friend that behaves in this manner, it seems every time we go out he only has a fiver in his pocket and manages to last the night. Knowing bouncers, barmaids, taxi drivers, kebab men and bumping into mates that are more than happy to fund his drinking. Thats why you always catch him with a champagne glass in his hand and a fit chick in the other, a first class blagger. We all know one, or someone who knows one. I’ve just given these kind of people a new title, as in ‘LBR’. Thought it would make a refreshing change to rap about not having money (which I aint), rather than the cliched ‘being all about the money’ ” Voodoo laughs extremely hard to himself. “Its about time someone came with a new perspective, more real life”.

Voodoo Browne is a long serving HipHop/Experimental lyricist based in Ipswich in the East of England, UK. Having spent all his life fully immersed in music and Hip Hop culture, it eventually steered his career through many roles including a ‘Battle Rhymer’ to a ‘DnB MC’, to fronting a Funk Band and Hip Hop crew in the early 00′s.

LBR or Low Budget Raver as its titled, is lyrically animated, and shows the skill of Voodoo when it comes to giving the listener an easier time understanding the story. With production from Nat ‘NJC’ Clarkson you aint gonna be disappointed. The backing track is a primetime club banger and designed to shake the Sound System, nasty bass-lines and a driving beat, with hard hitting riffs that shake your ear hairs.

His versatile approach, fused with his down to earth lyrical content, breathes a breath of fresh air in an ever saturated market of cloned artists we see today. Having spent the last 2 years developing his long awaited debut album ‘Browne Saucery’, Voodoo is poised to release his unique brand of sonic creations later this year.
