Mackadena

MacktacularMack is a homegrown Dutch producer with over 30 years of experience working with many artists worldwide.

At an early age his father took him along to recording studios to develop his talents and let him fool around and discover his musical preferences.

It was obvious Mack had a natural talent for sound and rhythm and it didn’t take long before he climbed on a drum kit and made his first rhythms. He began immediately developing his raw talent by performing and recording with various live bands in a variety of genres such as funk, soul, rhythm & blues, rock, metal, Motown, reggae and salsa.

With the rising volume of hip-hop music and the integration of samplers and computers in the early 80’s his interest shift from playing with a band to dj-ing and producing.

By the age of ten he formed his first hip-hop crew covering all elements of hip-hop comprising of DJ’s, MC’s, dancers and graffiti artists and achieved success performing on many major national stages and festivals. His first international breakthrough was in the early 90’s with the infamous Rotterdam hip-hop crews ‘Cold Blood Terror’ and ‘Bonecrushin’ which took him to France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and the US.

After a long period of performing, producing and being part of several crews he continued to gain experience and develop himself until the late 90’s and early 2000 when the international hip-hop scene in general had a little set back.

This is were Mack found himself falling back to his DJ roots and concentrated on the dance scene with Jungle and Drum & Bass as his main focus. Again his musical background and natural talent quickly helped him establish a name for himself in the Dutch club scene and shared stages with artists such as A Sides, Total Science, Digital & Spirit, Bad Company, Marcus Intalex, Calibre, MC Rage, MC Dynamite, Roni Size, Fabio, Hype, Ed Rush and Optical amongst others. In this period Mack hooked up with one of UK’s finest DJ/Producers DJ A Sides trough mutual friends but it wasn’t till 2009 when the two got together in the studio and formed the producers duo ‘Foodchain Projects’ collaborating both styles and experiences.

DVD Beat CompanyIn 2009, friend and colleague producer A Sides introduced Mack to UK based collective ‘Just Another Label’ and record company ‘Ambiel Music’ with whom collaborations include productions for the Film and TV industry plus commercial ventures and the development of new artists.
