Nat Clarkson aka NJC

Nat Clarkson aka NJC has been on a hiatus from the world of Drum and Bass over the past 7 years. Concentrating mainly on other projects and producing the debut albums for UK Dancehall and Reggae star YT in 2006, Dancehall artist Bongo Chilli in 2007 and Indie Band The Marvelous in 2008. During the production of YT’s album Nat helped to setup and run indie label Sativa Records and together with Hiptones (Creation Records) they released ‘Straight Outta Britain’ in June 2006 to critical acclaim. Nat left Sativa Records in 2007 to persue his own projects.

More recently he has branched out into several new genres and has developed a healthy roster of up-and-coming artists and bands on his own imprint Ambiel Music that he runs with Gordon Mulrain (Bass player for late Desmond Dekker). He also runs Trance label Dance Regime with Chris Grabiec, a new Trance artist/DJ/producer based in west London. Nat Co-Produces and Mixes all the releases for Chris.

NJC’s main focus at the moment is producing the debut albums with three new artists Voodoo Browne and Kyra Ja’e, who are signed to his production company NJC Music and also working on the debut album with Chris Grabiec.

Nat has recently returned to D&B with his free download “Cascades” – reviewed by Knowledge Mag and – continues writing new music for his artists and production music for his longterm music publisher Ola (The DML & JAL), for licensing to film and TV companies.
