Stolen Peace

Stolen Peace began playing together in their hometown of New Mills in the northwest of England. Whilst growing up their influences included Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, Tori Amos, Radiohead, Kings of Leon and Biffy Clyro. Their debut album “Bones” can be seen as the foundation to their style and the result of their hybrid of influences.

With years of playing together behind them the synchronicity of the band can be seen clearly through their energetic live performances and alongside a year of touring their first release are soon to be unveiling their second album “Coloured By Cannons.” The album demonstrates the progression of their style with distinctive hooks and driving rhythms moving them further from their influences and into a unique personality.

“Sub consciously I think the one binding influence over the last 12 months has been Bruce Springsteen. We really got into him and love the size of his records and we have certainly tried to recreate something that matches that. Recently we have also been into Band of Skulls and The Black Keys. Three bands that influence would be: Led Zeppelin – for the riffs, Queens Of The Stone Age – for the dirty vibe and off-kilter rhythms and Bruce Springsteen – for the fist pumping!”

Since their signing to Mission Management in Feb 2010 the band’s debut album, recorded in Manchester, mixed in New York and mastered it with Jon Astley in London, has been steadily promoted with a series of gigs organised by Manchester promoters SA Promotions working up to headlining the Academy3 last month.

With the run up to the launch of their second album, due for release in 2012, the increasingly prolific group saw out 2011 with a busy schedule of recording with reputable engineer John Delf and an active timetable of live performances set for the end of the year.
